Generation PRX - Social Network for Youth Radio Producers

Generation PRX

Ah, vox pops. They're quick to produce, snappy to listen to, and - when they're done well - totally entertaining. What better project for the summer?

Vox pop comes from the Latin vox populi, "the voice of the people." And the premise is simple: think of a question, ask a bunch of people, edit it together, lay down music and voila! You're vox popped.

Here are a few great examples to get you started:

Skull N' Bones from Kerry Seed: A vox-pop that asks: "What do you think happens to people when they die?"

What's Divorce Like for You? from Jeremiah Kaczynski of Youth Radio Vermont

I Wish from Samantha Broun: an audio collage of people's aspirations and longings

Why we Wear Baggy Pants from Keylie Espinosa, Estefania Martinez, Roger Peacock for Curie Youth Radio

This is a short list of good vox pops - add yours in the comments.
