Hey my invisible partners! Let me say that it sure feels good to be back in my own 4 walls. Carnegie Hall was stunning and singing there in it's pearly gold wisdom was enough to make me teary eyed and light-headed (in a good way of course!). I can't say I want to move to New york now that I've been, I'm too much of a country lovin gal for that but, I will admit that the lights on Broadway could make any southern bell swoon and sway. The Countdown
4 days. There are only 4 days until I'm up in NYC! Yay me!!! Why am I going? Well sadly it's not radio related :( I just happen to be going up there with my chrous group to sing in the National Youth Choir @ Carnegie Hall. Look at me sounding all worldly and stuff, yeah right! Anyway I can't wait we leave on thursday at 8. It'll take about ten hours (10 hours of insanity) to get up there. It should be crazy fun though ;p Now all I have to do is memorize all the music! Wish me luck ;)… Continue

A Unique Sound
What Intrigues YOU?
Jones Franzel sent me an email the other day; she wrote: "Wanted to send you this review of YouthCast on the Sound of Young America..." I decided to check it out. It's a post "Podthoughts" by Colin Marshall about podcasts offered on alt.NPR. In the post, Colin talks about YouthCast. Here's a quote: The neat thing is that the pieces are made by high-school- or college-age producers. The less neat thing is that I once again find myself having to break out the term "This American Life-y", which I apply to a regrettably high number of shows.
That made me think...how can we differentiate our style? I have much respect for Ira Glass, but I'm also an advocate for uniqueness. So, what do you think about our podcasts?
